Porn in AI? I don’t buy it!

However interesting the development of AI technology is, it makes our lives easier, helps us in our daily work and is just something new, it doesn’t appeal to me in pornography.

We create millions of fictional images of people who don’t exist. And what is the result? We masturbate to fiction, which to me is in itself quite strange. Add the fact that the technology is still flawed and quirks like three hands, a distorted face or other unnatural things come out in the images. This is a detail, though, because in a while it will be perfected and there won’t be anything to complain about. I am more concerned about the fictionality of the characters, who simply do not exist.

Some will probably disagree with me and say that porn is also fiction. Yes, and very often carefully directed ones at that. But these are real characters, even if they play some roles (often bizarre ones).

AI porn carries something very wrong with it. We start to live in an imaginary world of strange characters that we have created for ourselves. They may even be perfect in terms of appearance, but so what if they don’t exist.

It makes me wonder how this technology will affect human relationships, because it certainly won’t make them easier. We’ll see what life brings.

Even though I am sceptical about it, that doesn’t mean I reject it. I am waiting, observing and analysing. On the plus side, it may go some way to helping single people who can’t find a partner. However, it is worth the temptation to look for someone to go through life with.
